Audio device refused to switch input to roon. Mark Levinson No. 519

Hi All,
I am a happy user of Roon for now nearly 1 year, but… For the past months (!) I’ve consistently been having issues with what seems to be the connection between Roon and my Mark Levinson No. 519 cd/streamer. Don’t worry - I have the ML software build 595 installed, and Roon is running version 2.0 build 1272 via my MacBook Pro. All connections are wireless.

My problem is that, even inside the same album, when the next track is up, the “audio device refused to switch input to roon” message is displayed and no music is played. Super annoying, and not very nice to be distracted when trying to relax and enjoy the music.

Everything is set up wirelessly, and the problem is consistent whether using the MacBook, my iPad, or my Android phone as remote. We have a robust 5 GHz wifi system, and when everything works I can stream hi-res files without any issues at all.

I’ve found out that if I use the Mark Levinson remote (ML Control App) just for a second, it is possible to “nudge” Roon back in command when pressing Play over Roon again. But alas, the problem is consistent and will only come back a few minutes later: “Audio device refused to switch input to roon”.

Heeeeeeelp - highly appreciated :pensive::pensive::pensive:

Temporarily link things up with wired ethernet and see if it still does the same thing.

Hey @Henrik_Sie,

Ben with the support team here, thank you for writing in and welcome to the community! I’m extremely sorry for the delay in getting to your issue. It’s certainly not an ideal way to be introduced to the community. I’ve made sure to add your thread to my watch list to ensure nothing slips through the cracks moving forward.

Did you manage to test out @ged_hickman1’s suggestion of hardwiring your core directly to your router? I’d be curious to see how things function under these conditions.

With that, does this issue occur when playing different sample rates, as well as the same sample rates? (Playing a full album should be playing at the same rate, but still worth testing!)

With that, if you could please reproduce the issue and share the specific date and time of when the issue occurs, that would be helpful! Are you able to get a set of logs from the Mark Levinson?

Thanks!
