My audio devices shows empty when Roon is in standby mode

Hi @Joel_Dsouza,
Thanks for writing in to let us know about this issue. Can you explain a bit more about what you mean by Roon being in standby mode?

I’m using Mac mini and Roon server is installed on it. To play music I need to restart the app every time, because I don’t see my DAC in audio devices. So restarting app or mac is the only option. When I stop playing music, again the audio devices disappear.

Okay, I understand what issue you’re having now. I need to ask some more questions to narrow down where the problem is.
Are you able to play to the DAC from outside of Roon?
Do you have any zones other than your DAC? If you do are they also affected?
Please upload a screenshot of your audio settings in Roon.

We think something else on your Mac might be controlling the DAC. Can you upload a screenshot of the Audio MIDI settings on your Mac?

Going back to what you said about Roon going into standby; if you are referring to your Mac going to sleep this is expected behavior when the DAC is directly connected to the server. Some users use an app called Amphetamine to prevent their servers from sleeping so this may work for you.

Installed Amphetamine and issue is resolved now. Thanks Daniel
