Describe the issue
Audio sound after connecting to my crestron system is static throughout all rooms in the house on any speaker only with the roon component, does not happen with Kaleidascape or cable TV music channels
Describe your network setup
Roon nucleus is a new device in My Rr # system connected to a deck which then connects to a restaurant audio processor through a HDMI switcher
Thank you for the detailed report.
To help narrow down the cause of the static noise you’re hearing with Roon through your Crestron system, let’s try a few steps and gather some additional information: 1. Test direct connection bypassing Crestron
Please connect your Roon Nucleus directly to an amplifier, AV receiver, or active speakers using HDMI or USB, bypassing the Crestron and HDMI switcher.
This will tell us if the noise originates from the Nucleus itself or is introduced somewhere in the Crestron/switcher path.
2. Try a different HDMI input/output path
If direct connection works fine, reconnect through Crestron but try a different HDMI port on both the Nucleus and the HDMI switcher.
Check if the noise changes or disappears.
3. Test with an alternate Zone in Roon
If possible, create a new Zone in Roon that outputs to a device not connected through Crestron (e.g., a computer running Roon Bridge or a phone using System Output).
Let us know if static is present there as well.
4. Confirm network and firmware details
Please share the exact model of the Crestron hardware, HDMI switcher, and restaurant audio processor.
Confirm if their firmware is up to date.
Let us know the firmware version of your Roon Nucleus (Settings → About).
5. Provide an updated signal path screenshot
In Roon, while playing audio, click the small glowing dot next to the track name and take a screenshot of the full signal path.
This will help us see if any processing or conversions are happening unexpectedly.
With the results of these steps, we can determine whether the issue is hardware-related, a configuration mismatch, or something within Roon’s output chain.
Looking forward to your updates so we can get this resolved quickly.
