Audio zones disappearing after latest update

I’ve just updated Roon and Roon Server to the latest versions today:

Roon version 2 (build 1382) Production (64-bit) on Windows 11
Roon server version 2 (build 1382) production on Linux machine.

Initially I had to re-enable my DAC (Topping DX3 Pro+), selected Exclusive Mode WASAPI and it worked as expected.

I then logged into a different WiFi access point here at home for better signal.
The playback stopped as it reconnected to a different WiFi but when I went back to Roon, the Topping again was not in the Audio Zone list.

Back to setting, Audio but now I see only the Server audio options as well as a Wiim and a couple of other connected devices around the house.

All the device options on my local machine have vanished.
I’ve restarted Roon, my laptop, the Topping…to no avail.

So, I cannot use Roon at all since the update.

Has anyone experienced this? Is there an open ticket on this?

Thanks.

Update:
Now working. I restarted Roon, laptop and DAC, disconnected all cables and reconnected. This morning it’s working again.
Didn’t involve a router reset.
No idea what happened and hope it doesn’t re-occur.

Try restarting everything including your router. Worked for me.

Hi @Barry_Mulkerns,

Glad to hear that a restart resolved things. If this occurs again, you can quickly refresh RAATServer by taking these steps. For any system-level Zones managed by RAAT, this will re-initiate the discovery process. Make sure you have a Backup, as this will “factory reset” your Zone settings and DSP as well.

  • Create a Backup of your current Roon database
  • Exit out of Roon
  • Navigate to your Roon’s Database Location
  • Find the folder that says “RAATServer”
  • Rename the “RAATServer” folder to “RAATServer_old”
  • Restart the Roon App to generate a new RAATServer folder
  • Restore the Backup to restore your settings
