Description of Issue

Since the Roon update, the Formation Flex only shows up in Settings Audio via Airplay. The Flex previously showed up as both an Airplay device and a wired device. The wired device has disappeared.

Notes:

  • Via airplay I am getting drop outs, even with my tracks stored locally
  • The Formation Flex does show up as a wired connection to the router
  • I’ve tried:
  1. Restarting the Roon application
  2. Rebooting the router
  3. Rebooting the computer
  4. Turning of my firewall / virus protection
  5. Searched the knowledge base and this support community area

Here is what I see in Settings → Audio:

Note that 192.168.0.167 is the Flex’s WiFi connection. 192.168.0.184 is the wired address.

I have not used that device, but do you need to tell it to use wifi or ethernet?
I can run either or with my sonos. Took me a moment to figure that out. It was a setting in the app

Thanks, Paul. The Formation Flex does not have a wired/ethernet switch.

I did solve the problem by factory resetting both speakers and re-running the B&W setup. They now show up as wired in Roon. It was an issue with the speakers and not Roon.

I am now a happy camper.
