The yesterday released version seems to have a major bug within the Android app. On my S23Ulrra (Android 14) the app is frozen. Even a restart of the app didn’t help, Roon is impossible to control anymore. Happened after the app was in the background for less than 5 minutes. This behavior was in the past as well sometimes case and could be fixed with closing and reopening the app. In this version…dead.
Hi @Sascha_Held
I’m a fellow Roon user.
I would try clearing the apps cache.
If this doesn’t work, clear the cache and data for the app, delete the app and re-install.
Report back if this helps.
@Sascha_Held - If @Menzies suggestions don’t solve your issue, then if you require help from the support team, please open a support request in the Support category of the forum which is monitored by Roon.
Note, the Support link is clickable and will take you to the correct place to create your request by clicking on the “Get Help” button.
Thank you.
I’ll make further testing during the weekend.
Looking on the forum it seems, that this freeze issue applies for more users and on different platforms.
I’m having similar issues since today. Don’t know if it’s from the Android update, the Roon Server update, or both together… I’m leaning towards the Server update though because I’ve had big pauses on the Win32 client too.
You should open a topic in Support then, same as Geoff‘s recommendation to Sascha above
I will if it continues. Often I find an update makes everything wonky for a few days but then settles down.
This shouldn’t be the case in the first place
Short feedback: the problem does no longer occur.
I changed nothing on the devices, something was improved in Roon it seems.
