B1507 on windows with B1507 Windows based Server I can’t remove Listen Later items that have been played. Clicking the X does nothing.
It looks like the X is doing something. If I reboot the EA server that album is no longer in the listen later list.
After all the hubbub on the forum about a bug with removing an album from LL after adding it to the library, and why EA testers didn’t find it, I decided to test this. Sadly, I could repro an issue nearly immediately. I am quite sure but not 100% it went like this:
- Went to this album from Home > New releases for you and clicked the round Add to Listen later button
- Went to Home > LL > More
- In the album entry’s three dot menu, clicked Add to Library
- In the album entry’s three dot menu, clicked Remove from Listen Later
- Click Back to go to Home
- Still saw the album in LL:
- Click LL > More
- Click the three dot menu. The album shows Add to Listen Later although it is already listed. For comparison with the next step, also note that Add to Library is greyed out as it should be because it is already in the library:
- Click Home > LL > More, then click the album (and not open the three dot menu as in the previous step). The album shows as not in library. I suppose that this is because the object that is in LL is the original Qobuz version and not the in-library version, but this is damn confusing. (If, instead, I go to Home > Recently Added and click the album it shows as in-library). The album also shows the option to add to LL, again although it is already there.
- Restart the Roon client. Doesn’t help
- Reboot ROCK, now it is gone.
Side note: The album cover placeholder is always ugly, but particularly in this context:
Mine comes back again the next day when the service is restarted overnight. Every single album I have bought and added while they were in the LL are still there. I prefer to leave them there as it continues the play count more reliably then removing them from listen later.
Hopefully the next update fixes this issue and we can all just be happy with this nice functionality when it is more finished.
Well, the new EA doesn’t fill me with confidence, so far. I hope my report gets noticed or else I’ll actually get angry
1507 definitely isn’t releasable as a LL fix in any way, it’s actually worst for me.
This is quite sad, it appears that nothing is being learned or taken on between releases.
They definitely don’t want to see you angry
Without being funny, I have faith in Team Roon, more now than I had over the weekend
That’s all I can say
Like Fox Mulder, I want to believe.
But it’s also the hope that kills you (Ted Lasso among others)
Well if you have some inside information, then I can both believe and hope for a bit longer yet
Still sounds great to me
No acknowledgement if the issues here, I hope you fixed it for production
They didn’t. The situation has remained exactly as you described here: B1507 Listen Later Issues - #3 by Suedkiez
Jeez. What the hell is going on. Stuff like this can be managed, just delay the release a bit if the fix can be done in a week, or add it to the release notes if it takes longer and explain that work continues but the many other improvements shouldn’t be held back.
Odd. I’ve updated and as per yesterday I can add and remove albums. They also don’t reappear.
If you listen to a LL album and then add it to your library and then try to delete it from LL does that work?
Listen to it all first or just add it whilst playing?
- Add to listen Later.
- Listen to whole album.
- Add album to library
- Try to remove album from Listen Later.
Will test and advise
I’d try but I’m just heading up to a buddy’s remote cabin for the night.
