· I use ROON on an intel NUC7i&BNH dedicated for ROCK. I use a Samsung T7 SSD for backups. Last week I couldn't make a backup on the T7 and therefore I formatted the disk. But it still won't backup AND I deleted all my backups. Whoops! I tried another SSD, I tried Dropbox but nothing works. I get the same message: there was an issue loading your database. Can you help me restore my backup?

It is not possible to backup a corrupt database. It is also not possible to recover the backups you deleted. Please start from scratch to resolve the issue unless you still have a working backup somewhere. See also:
ROON is still functional and my library intact. Is there a way to save the library? If I create a new Roon database folder will the “ old” one still be visible? I could manually restore the library.
I am sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but BlackJack is correct in his assessment.
Here is exactly what is happening: Even though Roon is currently functioning and playing music, the database has sustained corruption. Before Roon creates a backup, it performs a strict integrity check. Because your database is failing this check, Roon is preventing the backup to ensure you don’t save a corrupted file that would fail to restore later.
To answer your specific question:
Is there a way to save the library? If I create a new Roon database folder will the “ old” one still be visible?
No. The Roon database is a complex, proprietary structure, not a folder of simple files you can copy and paste. You cannot merge data from a corrupt database into a new one.
Since the previous backups were deleted, the only path forward is to start with a fresh database.
How to reset on ROCK:
WebUI
Open a web browser and go to your ROCK’s IP address (or http://rock.local/).
Locate the "Roon Database & Settings " section.
Click the red “Reset” button.
Confirm the action.
Manually
Stop RoonServer from the Web UI.
Navigate to the ROCK Data folder over the network (SMB).
Rename the RoonServer folder to RoonServer_old.
Restart RoonServer from the Web UI.
This will generate a fresh, corruption-free database.
