I listen to BBC radio 4 a lot. Today the BBC tell me they are changing theri online service. What can/should I do ?

It appears to be just the shoutcast MP3 streams that are being discontinued (see here). The other, HLS, streams should be OK. Select those instead (the ones ending in .m3u8)
