As a beginner here coming close to my 14 day trial period expiration i have a few questions before purchasing.
My set up consists of Adams Tensor Delta Active Speakers and a Cambridge Audio CXN Streamer (Bluetooth enabled). All my music is saved to an external NAS (Synology DS415+)
I have a Macbook Mac OS Sierra 10.12.1. How do i set this up so i receive a “purple” light. Currently my “system output” (OS Mixer) is “green”. If I’m going to make the jump i want to make sure I’m getting the most out of it.I thought id be able to stream the signal wirelessly to my CXN (Apt x) which would enable FLAC. If a made my Samsung Notepad my source would this change?
How do i get the album artwork to show up on my Cambridge Audio CXN Streamer?
Ive started externally relabelling ALL my music. As i have over 1 TB of downloaded DJ Mixes this is VERY time consuming but it seems if I’m to make the jump to Roon its best i have all the metadata correct prior.
a) If i have an artist that I’ve labelled as “Fred P” how can i directly link this to the Fred P in your database? i.e. so all the relevant info pops up. Is this possible? ATM all other Fred P artists are shown in the track list section i.e. Fred P., Castor P etc. I just want it linked to the Fred P i know. No others.
b) Can i group change how Roon reads my metadata? i.e. as I’m changing all of it using an external program can i get Roon to read the metadata as “prefer file” for ALL my music library. Or do i have to individually change each file.
Sorry as I’m sure these questions have been asked multiple times. Ive read a few posts that similar.

I see from your report that you are using the “system output” which is going to use the MB’s internal mixer during playback. In order to achieve the highest quality playback you will want to be using “exclusive mode” which can be found under zone settings as explained here in our knowledge base.
Can you please verify for me how you are communicating with the Cambridge Audio CXN streamer? Some screenshots of your “audio” tab found under settings, would be great to have as well
Furthermore, it is important to note that any device that wants to function seemlessly as a Roon endpoint must be certified by one of our developers to be Roon ready as seen in our Roon partner program article. When a piece of gear is Roon ready, as soon as it is active and on the same network as your core it can automatically be detected by the application as an endpoint without any additional hardware to be needed (i.e a MicroRendu). The reason I am mentioning this is because I am not seeing Cambridge on our list of partners, which would mean that this device may still need to be certified.

In Roon when you are looking at the artist page for “Fred P” is it being listed as “Identified” or “Unidentified” by the application?

First go to your Album browser. Then select all of your albums. Click the Edit button that has appeared at the top right, then choose the Metadata tab to reveal:

And I’m still getting the green light?
In all honesty I’ve been wanting to buy a dragonfly red for months… If i buy it and plug it into my Mac will it solve the green light issue? I thought the CXN DAC would be sufficient (dual Wolfson WM8740 DACs)?
Item 2) I emailed Cambridge and they replied basically “no time soon”
Item 3a) With Fred P i have relabelled every mix i have from his as “artist - Fred P”.

Hi @edward_thompson ----- Thank you for the feedback and my apologies for the slow response here. I appreciate your patience.
I see in screenshot #3 that your system output is selected which means that Roon is making use of the internal mixer to achieve playback, which leads me to assume that you are using a BlueTooth connection to access the Cambridge DAC. Can you verify this for me?
This indicates to me that this is how the Cambridge DAC is being accessed when streaming to your Airplay zone, but can you confirm what zone this is/how it is being accessed as I am not seeing it in the screenshots from your “Audio” tab:
I think it is important to note that anything being streamed to an Airplay zone that is above 44.1khz will be down sampled as that is all that device can handle.

If you are to purchase a dragonfly and use the device to connect to a DAC all you will have to do is make sure that you are using “exclusive mode” in your playback settings to achieve a bit perfect stream.
Lastly…

Edward, when your Fred P mixes are being imported into Roon are they listed as identified or unidentified? If they are listed as unidentified, click the hyper link and identify them with the correct Fred P artist who produces “The Incredible adventures” and “Expressing Dark Matter”.
The screen shots you have provided are in relation to TIDAL content. If those albums are imported into your library and you wish to remove them, all you will need to do is highlight the albums that you want gone (right click), then the “3dot menu” will appear at the top of the screen. Select “edit” and the album editor window will appear. Scroll down and select delete album. Please note that TIDAL content will be removed from your library via this process. If the same process is used on local content, that content will be gone for good so just double check that the selections you are making are from TIDAL

I did a search on TIDAL and am noticing the same thing when “Fred P” is being pinged back. I brought this to the attention of our team member Joel who handles metadata and he has informed me that an equivalence edit has been made to tie up all the instance of Fred P. on Rovi, Musicbrainz and TIDAL. This will be deployed tomorrow
