Ladies,
I have borrowed my friends Cyan2 which he received last week from Wildism Audio Hong Kong.
Cyan 2 is indeed the classic we were hoping for. My measurements below.
And yes I am finally listening to it after measuring - beautiful.
Under 100kHz DSD256 beats DSD512 in all measurements. I won’t show DSD512 here, no point.
With Jussi’s classic 5MHz wideband Picoscope, DSD512 is nice but for my headphones listening I would choose DSD256.
Cyan2 is not really significantly better than the SMSL D-6 - but this is true discrete for the price of an RME ADI-2.
All measurements below using 44.1kHz test signals → DSD256 + poly-sinc-gauss-xla + 5EC-light
120dB RMS ‘range’ (nice):
Higher level dual tones create HF distortion but low enough in level:
Pretty much like the spec:
IMD vs level. Ignore the small ups and downs. ‘Line of best fit’ is good enough:
TDFD dual tone brings out more HF distortion but still low enough:
Triple tone:
Jitter perfection:
Jussi classic Pico - it is good enough
