I’ve been bouncing my head against the wall this week with respect to the Squeezelite issue: with 2025.08.1 discovery of the LMS server doesn’t work anymore.
And nothing changed in 2025.08.1 related to Squeezelite, at least that was I was convinced about
I’ve been distracted also by my own infrastructure: on my regular systems the discovery wasn’t working either, so I went into a rabbit hole of updating LMS etc.
I’m still not sure what’s going on there: I updated my Unifi router and ‘all of a sudden’ discovery on my PC’s started working again.
Anyways, back to the Pi I think I found it in the end. The “I think” is because I first want to here from you that it is solved
So here’s a beta that addresses one thing: server discovery with Squeezelite.
As this is related to the kernel (I’ll spare you the details): @Andrew_Egginton1 it might be worth that you test this beta as well. The Squeezelite issue is network related, so there might be a chance that this is also somehow involved in your issue.
Hi @spockfish nice work.
Now that Ropieee is working nicely with LMS again, I have installed LMS (through PiCorePlayer) on a spare Pi and everything is working great.
All three players were found as soon as I enabled them in Ropieee
You always go the extra mile to resolve issues quickly, and thank you for that
Well, i tried it and unfortunately its made no difference to my wired ethernet issue for the displays. Ive gone back to wifi for the two display units and it seems all good. Im not too concerned as the main ropieee > dac boxes are working fine wired and happily streaming DSD512. The displays dont need much bandwidth so im happy for them to work on the wifi adaptor.
