This took some time, because we ran into an network connectivity issue with the new LTS kernel. It took the guys from Raspberry a week to figure it out (bottom line: bug that has been there for years and years, but surfaced with the new kernel due to some other changes), but this beta release wraps this up.
Furthermore there’s an update for Plexamp (finally), I fixed a crash in the display application, and this beta now has the first feature that uses the real-time audio device monitoring: restart services that failed to start because of a locked device (looking at you Squeezelite).
Updated my 5 RoPieees (3 x RPI3B with Display an d2 x RPI4B with USB-connection to DAC).

Hey Harry, updated 5 units without issue and spent most of the day streaming to one of them. Will also monitor for the network kernel issue, but it looked like the last beta fixed that (they’d all made it to 7 days when I switched to this new beta).
Yeah, it’s already confirmed by multiple people that the issue has been resolved.
The Raspberry guys have also located the origin of the problem (technically speaking disabling EEE is just a hotfix), which is already fixed upstream as well.
Hey Harry, not sure if this is the best place to mention it but yesterday after 10 days update every one of my Ropieee’s (all running RoPieee 2026.05 (3705) [BETA] (or the Pi3 equivalent)) dropped their extensions. I rebooted Roon server with no success. When I rebooted each endpoint it came back up. Could be a one-off, but it’s odd that it impacted all of them at once (and I’d upgraded them all at the same time so it was ~10 days uptime for all of them)
