As there were some known issues with RoPieee Spinner, I wanted another build out asap. So:
- fix sample rate matching within Spinner. Still upsampling, but properly figuring out what the native capabilities are. So that means that with Spinner you can do 384k (in combination with Music Assistant).
- add possibility to set the maximum allowed sample rate in Spinner.
- update Airplay component and improve detection in Music Assistant. MA matches devices Airplay devices by name and not some identifier. Which can screw up your registration. I’ve improved the detection by adding a unique identifier to the Airplay configuration on RoPieee. For the MA users: MA will still see a single endpoint with support for multiple protocols. And Airplay takes precedence over Sendspin. You can disable Airplay (if you wish) on the endpoint, so it will automatically choose Sendspin.
- remove Plexamp: it’s unsupported right now, so let’s remove it from RoPieee.
- remove Snapcast: that was me being enthusiastic (because I do think, highly subjective
, that RoPieee Spinner is a better MA client than Snapcast), but I might have been too quick with this. There are happy Snapcast users out there
So it’s gone, but it might be back in the next beta. - updated Spotify component, because again something has changed on the Spotify side.
Enjoy!
