I’m not sure what “rather limited HDMI” means so I’m not quite sure what is meant to be working or not. I can see the endpoint and enable it, but I can’t play to it. Feedback: 76f206e2122a6353
Yeah, you’re using Roon. That’s the one I didn’t try.
Problem is the way that HDMI, at least on the Pi, is reporting back about it’s capabilities. I’m not sure if Roon handles that correctly.
For the rest it’s wired up correctly, so you should get this working when using a different service (like Squeezelite or RoPieee Spinner).

@James_Fitzell Oh… I see an issue with the 44.1k HDMI capability on your Denon. Can you try it with 48k content?

You’ll see in that feedback I later tried music assistant which worked perfectly (with 44.1k content, but it was resampled to 48k which I believe all the Denon’s do).
I also tested a Rpi3 with Denon x1200w via HDMI but same behaviour in Roon.
Also, Roon doesn’t like it when the amp is turned off.
Yeah, I already know what’s going with Roon, or more specifically Roon Bridge.
I’ve got it working over here, but it needs some more polishing.

No worries, happy to test more if you have specific things that need testing. I’ve got a reasonable variety of options (lots of endpoints, HAT/USB/HDMI, display/remote, rpi3/rpi4, and music assistant) but in the absence of something specific my fallback testing is Roon and mostly only in a few specific places

Those versions are literally ancient. Tbh I would have expected that they would use this to raise the minimum versions as well.
So RoPieee should just work, but I know a few beta testers … 
And finally found new features in audio config like this (External source controls). I add Ropieee but I dont know what is the option do? This is Remote IR?

No. See previous beta release where ‘convenience switching’ was introduced. In order to be able to do that with Roon, you need to use this setting.
Sigh, I forgot all about that, despite setting it only recently for my own testing of the wonderful convenience switching

I had the remote extension crash again (like we’d discussed previously here: BETA Release 20260613 - #18 by spockfish )
Restarting the ropieee-remote service fixed it. Feedback: f23cdb586769f527
