Walter Trout, Albert Castiglia, Mike Zito, Tab Benoit, Albert Cummings, Gov’t Mule, Johnny Winter… there are many, but that will get you started .
I like Buddy Guy’s explanation as to why he had a polka dot Strat. I like his ”I done got old.”
Early Paul Butterfield Blues Band! The back of the original Elektra LP cover of their first album states: “We suggest that you play this record at the highest possible volume in order to fully appreciate the sound of the Paul Butterfield Blues Band.”
John Lee Hooker could sing/play an entire song using one simple chord. I remember when he played with Santana and said that he was tired.
…close behind, featuring Peter Green on guitar, who went on to found the original Fleetwood Mac.
Imho, the best blues album ever
Everything from The Blues Band.
Good start is this
I’m very much a fan of John Lee Hooker, Muddy Waters, BB King, Albert Collins and Robert Cray. Oli Brown’s stuff is good too. I have most of John Campbell’s albums - he was a great blues musician, singer and songwriter who sadly died far too young (41). Really like John Mayall, Stevie Ray Vaughan, Paul Rodgers and Joe Bonamassa too. Really like Seasick Steve’s stuff too.
while talking about Blues, Peter Green is a must
And this is imho his best solo album
Peter Green’s guitar went to Gary Moore and owned by Slash as I recall.
”i Got The Blues for You” can be seen live on YouTube.
Blues from Norway
Think Kirk Hammett from Metallica is present custodian
Two “modern” blues artists I like a lot.
Christone “Kingfish” Ingram.
Tinsley Ellis.
Keep 'em coming guys, my list of stuff to listen to is growing…
