Description of Issue

It looks like my bookmark isn’t filtering correctly.
First I go to select the composition Verdi, La Traviata and it shows up with 49 recordings.

Next I go to the focus on All Recording and choose just the recordings with Maria Callas (10 recordings).

Finally I make a bookmark from that. When I select the bookmark I get back all 49 recordings.

I’m just starting to use Roon so I might be doing something wrong, or misunderstanding how Focus/Bookmarks work, but something doesn’t seem right.

That’s odd - I get 93 recordings:

How did you arrive at the page you show in your screenshot?

However, I agree that the Bookmark doesn’t seem to save the Forcus correctly, so it does seem to be a bug.

What I did was:
a)A search for “Verdi La Traviata”
b)Selected “La Traviata, opera” from “Compositions”.

Now when I do that I get 52 recordings. Is the count somehow affected by what’s in “My Library”? Since doing the report I’ve put a recording of La Traviata into my library. How did you get the 93 count? Also, I’m using Qobuz as my library.

Curiouser and curiouser… I repeated the steps you took and still ended up with 93 recordings - I’ve also got the “Show only complete recordings” setting on, and I use Qobuz also. Not sure why there’s a difference for you. It could be due to regional licensing (not all recordings are available in all geographical regions), but the discrepancy seems to be too great for this.

Edit 1: Hang on - I get the feeling that the “Only complete recordings” settings isn’t working in my build of Roon - I’m seeing extracts listed as well. I think this is the cause. I’ll report this separately.
Edit 2: Nope, if I turn this off, I get 1,150 recordings listed…

Yes, curiouser and curiouser. I still get 52 recordings…

But then if I go down to Focus on All Recording I see this…

So 89 recordings from Qobuz when there are only 52 total recordings?

Have you got the “Only complete recordings” setting on in the All recordings section?

FWIW, I see:

And this makes sense, since the total is 93, and I have one of the Qobuz recordings as a local ripped CD…

Where is the “Only complete recordings” setting?

Another side note - I went to count the number of album covers under All Recordings and it was 52 so at least that’s consistent.

It’s in the drop-down menu (next to the Filter) in the All recordings section…

Yup - it’s on.

With it off it goes crazy…

That’s because it lists all the recordings of extracts from the opera (e.g. arias) - the “bleeding chunks” list…

Interesting discussion. Search isn’t always that easy… I’ve already found.
Followed Your steps and I also ended with 93 recordings (Belgium geographical region).

Greetings,
LD

Yes, this is an interesting discussion. It’s also taking place on another topic where I added my new user perspective. Do focused bookmarks work when browsing? - #21 by Nathaniel_Novod
