Describe the issue

I have two problems that I did not have yesterday. One - my Bravia 3 TV was showing up as an audio device and I could send picture to the display in the volume menu, but it no longer shows up. Also two my iPad is in a loop just looking for the Roon Server which is on my PC. Everything is on the same network.

Describe your network setup

Xfinity XB8 router/modem (just had service on it today to fix speed issues), TP link 5-Port Gigabit Desktop Switch (everything, but the Ipad is wired), running Roon on windows 11 PC. The Bravia and the send to display used to show up in both places in the attached picture .

Hey @d.a.jackson,

Thanks for writing in and for sharing your report - welcome to the Roon community as well! We’re excited to have you here, but also apologize in that it’s an issue that has prompted your recent post.

If you haven’t yet, I’d reboot your router and switch, and any other network gear between your server and primary router. It may be worth temporarily bypassing the switch and set up a direct connection between the two.

From a fresh diagnostic report, we see a handful of different network-related errors, for example: statuscode=999 error=System.Net.WebException: A socket operation was attempted to an unreachable host.

It could be the case that the network-related service that was recently performed may be the source of the connectivity issues you’re experiencing now. Let me know if a reboot of you system gets you back up and running properly! :+1:

I did the restart and it did not work with either problem.

Hello @d.a.jackson

Thank you for the update

From the recent diagnostic data from your account, I see that the connection to the Bravia TV was successfully established, and you used it as the Display in Roon. Would you kindly confirm that the issue is still relevant?

Regarding the issue with the iPad would you kindly make sure that the Local Network access is enabled for the Roon application :

  • Open Settings on your iPhone or iPad.
  • Scroll down and tap Privacy.
  • Select Local Network.
  • You’ll see a list of apps. Toggle the switch next to each app to grant or deny access.
