Bug: filter not working correct, Recordings by Popularity

Roon Version 2.0 (build 1219)

Steps to recreate:

  1. Select album e.g. Krasno / Moore Project: Book of Queen s
  2. Select Stanton Moore
  3. Select Discography
  4. Select Recordings by popularity
  5. Type in the string “dri” in the filter

Actual:
No matches for “dri” is displayed

Expected:
At least record Driftin’ is displayed

Looking at this driftin is a track on an album Converstaions anda filter on discography won’t find an individual track on an album, only albums, singles or eps listed under the discography which this isn’t any. What am I missing here? I can only use Qobuz as I don’t own any of this material is Driftin an album or a single/ep in it own right? Can you show screen grab of examples of what you expect to see from discography and the applying the filter.

  1. filter works for tracks
    in this example the filter works also for tracks
    i set the list to Recordings by popularity
    my filter is dr and the track New Orleans Drummers id displayed

I just realised there is a recordings option that I was missing, never used that in 5 years with Roon lol. Filter will only work if it’s in your library same as filters on all pages. It won’t filter if not as all Roons metadata stuff is for library only. Works for me after I added the album to my library

Here are my observations:

  1. Filter works for albums not in my library
    the displayed albums are not in my library
    filter string is st

  2. Filter displays wrong results

    also entries are displayed as result, which do not contain the string wal – s. first two entries in the list

  3. Filter with string dri
    I saw the following:
    I type in the filter field the text dri
    dri is selected correct in the list

    the list is reloaded and the error message appears

    My wish is, that the filter works correct for all members of the displayed list, independed if they are member of my library or not
    the filter should filter the text displayed in the list

Here is my summary:

  1. Filter is not working correct (s. example with “dri”)
    → this point needs to be clarified
  2. Filter is working for albums which are part or not part of “my library” (s. point 1. Filter works for albums not in my library)
  3. Filter works for visible and non-visible parts in the displayed list (s. explanation from Dirk)
