This has been going on for as long as I can remember at this point with my C 658, but sometimes I get the artist name and a ? Before the track title, when it should only be the track title in the central row of the display. Anyone know why this happens?
Could be a char it cant display
Song is standard characters and works fine with BluOS app, so I’m not sure that’s the case. Happens on other songs too, like I tried Hypnotize by System of a Down by chance right after and same thing
The “?” only appears in the first image, and isn’t part of the song title or artist name: it’s a delimiter.
I assume the smaller font is album artist and album title, which is displayed correctly, and the large font track title and track artist.
However, I don’t see how the wrong delimiter can be caused by metadata, unless there is a bug in the device firmware. For instance, if it inherits the wrong character encoding.
Does this happen to every track on this album? Or is in random? Or, maybe, only albums that use track artist?
That was a single, so let me switch to an album as an example. In this case, System of a Down - Hypnotize. You can see one track has the error, and the next track does not
I’m seeing a pattern: when the track title and album are the same
Or when the track artist is included in the metadata.
Either way, this would appear to be an issue with the device since the character at fault is not metadata.
Maybe share a corresponding screenshot of the Roon Now Playing screen.
