I wasn’t aware that you can use a Raspberry Pi as a Roon Server, is that what you’re suggesting?
Raspberry Pi is not strong enough to run Roon Server. They are great however to use as a Roon endpoint. You can run Roon Bridge on them, RoPieee is great for this.
I know that. But since a forum moderator seemed to suggest that I was wondering if I’m missing anything
@Rugby did not say that a RPi could support Roon Server.
He was talking about DietPi - this is available for x86 CPUs and for RPi, but DietPi’s Roon Server will only work on x86 CPUs. In fact, DietPi for RPi does not even include Roon Server in the list of available packages. All that is available are the Roon Extension Manager and Roon Bridge.
My response was tailored to the discussion which was about using NUCs. There is a DietPi for PC which many on the forums have been using instead of ROCK since it has a very easy installer menu, similar to what Geoff has posted. And, it allows for temperature and memory monitoring, using only 1 large drive instead of requiring an OS and a Media drive, among other things.
