Description of Issue

Hi - I am a new user to ROON and not very tech savvy being 74 years old.
I cannot seem to get ROON to play back on my PC.
ROON Core is installed on an SSD connected to my SYNOLOGY NAS with no rpoblems.
I can link to ROON on my iPhone and to my CD35 Prisma BUT cannot play back on my PC
I have installed ROON onto my PC and the PC is seen if I go to Settings/About - but it is not seen in Settings/Audio.
I have tried turning off the firewall on my PC but this does not help.
Any advice how I can connect to my PC for playnback purposes.
Many thanks.

One thing that I know will cause this is having the network your PC is connected to be categorized as ‘Public’ - to check right click on the network icon in the system tray, click on ‘network and internets settings’, and it will show the network category

To change click on wifi, then on the network name (ssid)

For wired ethernet I assume the steps will be similar - I only have windows 11 on a laptop.

Hi - the Network settings were already “Private”, so that is not the issue.
Perhaps I need to have arule set up in ESET but I have no idea how to do this?

This article may help:

Hi - All okay now :+1:
Set up the exception rules in ESET and away we go
