Hi! What’s not quite right with Roon?

· Can’t reach my Server, remotes or ARC

Can’t connect to my Server, remotes or ARC

· Other ARC issues

Tell us what's going on

· After change in Wi-Fi network, can’t connect and locate the server when sign in

Tell us about your home network

· No idea at all abt which kind of stuff really matter

Would help to know:

  1. Have you tried rebooting the Roon Server and the device you are trying to access it from?
  2. What device Roon Server is running on (mac, windows, etc)?
  3. What device you are trying to access Roon from?
  4. Are the device wired or wireless?
  5. Are there any switches between the Roon Server and the network?
  6. Are the devices on the same network subnet as the Roon Server (i.e. 192.168.1.XXX, first three numbers in the IP indicate the subnet)?

Hello @paulineslcheng,

Thank you for reaching out. After reviewing your account, we can see that your Roon Server is running on a QNAP HS-453DX and is currently on version 2.64 — which is no longer supported. Starting with Roon 2.65, the native QNAP package is no longer compatible, which is why you are experiencing connection issues.

To get back up and running, you will need to migrate to the Docker-based installation. Please follow our step-by-step guide here: Installing RoonServer on QNAP with Docker

A couple of important notes for the migration:

  1. Make sure you have a recent Roon backup before proceeding — you will need to restore it after the Docker container is up and running
  2. After the restore, check Settings → Storage and edit any music folder paths to match the new container volume mappings
