Describe the issue

ROON Server cannot be found. Turned off Nucleus yesterday to relocate in audio cabinet. ROON was working fine. Ethernet port on Nucleus is blinking green and amber. Nucleus connected through Netgear 5 port unmanaged switch, which is working on 3 other devices. Changed Ethernet cable several times (current cables are 6 month old Blue Jeans Cat 6A). Internet to home is 1G Nokia fiber optic modem to ORBI Router. ROON Remote on MacMini, IPad and iPhone all running latest OS, same issue with cannot find ROON Server (Nucleus). There is NO firewall installed. Nucleus was RMA’d a few months ago for faulty power switch (turnaround was in excess of 35 days). Nucleus is under warranty for a few more weeks.

Describe your network setup

Nokia Fiberoptic 1G modem. ORBI router to Netgear 5 port unmanaged switch, which connects to 3 other devices that work. ORBI app shows Nucleus offline

What happens if you click Select a different Roon Server? It will tell you that you can’t access music on the current server, say yes to this. Then it should show you a list of available servers, probably including (or only) your Nucleus, select it.

Hey @hutchp,

@Suedkiez is correct in next steps - let me know if you’re able to locate and connect to your Nucleus that way.

If not, the next step would be to plug it into a monitor via HDMI and snap a screenshot of what you see. Make sure it’s still connected directly to your primary router when doing so.

We’ll be on standby for your reply, thanks! :raised_hands:

Choose Your Roon Server, option is “This Mac”, Ready - Connect. You are already logged in with Nucleus, need to purchase another subscription, is only option. Additional aspect: When Nucleus is powered off, ethernet port is solid green, when powered on Amber flashing light as well as as green light. Nucleus has to be moved to plug hdmi cable, or i need to find a 10’ hdmi, will try later. I think i have a defective ethernet port on Nucleus

Hey @hutchp,

Using a web browser, can you access the Nucleus webUI?

Ports can and do go bad. Try changing it to a known good working port to test.

Plugged HDMI cable (1st time). Plugged Cat 6 cable into port 1 of Netgear switch. IP address shown on TV through hdmi - no results, but ROON Remote on Mac OS had Nucleus ready to be enabled, with “Update all devices”. Thanks for quick response to all. A Happy Lifetime Subscriber since 2015
