Cannot find Server since last upgrade

Hello.

My HP Pavilion computer plays music on Roon. My ipad and Samsung phone will not connect as previously stated.

Can anyone please help from Roon Support. This is a nightmare.

Is there anyway I can install a previous version of Roon?

Thanks

This is good to know that your Roon Server PC is working correctly for playing to/on itself. Under Roon Settings → Audio, is your Atom showing as a zone to which you can play as an AirPlay or Roon Ready zone? If this is the case, then Roon is broadcasting on your home network and we can isolate the issue to something with the network on your iPad and Samsung phone. If the Atom is not visible on as a Roon zone, then there probably remains an issue on your network.

Hello.

I can see my UnityvAtom as a Roon Ready device and I can play music on the atom.

What else can I try?

Thank You.

Steve

Hi Stephen,

If it is your mobile devices that have an issue finding the server, then first, I would suggest checking that those mobile devices and the core are on the same network subnet. Sometimes, the wifi side of the network is set to a different network subnet than the wired ethernet side. This can happen during a router update for example.

You can use Fing to find the Ip addresses of the RoonServer and Mobile devices and post them here.

Hello Robert

I just turned my Windows Firewall off and hey presto I can connect to the core.

Do I need to keep the firewall off for the private network.

Thank you.

Steve

Make sure that your Firewall has the correct exceptions for the Roon components, and keep it on for safety.
