Description of Issue

When i attempt to select my 2nd Generation Apple TV it is correctly selected in Roon, in the iPad / iPhone app. When i then press “Play” to play any track, either local content or Tidal, nothing happens. The track shows that its playing but the time bar stays at 0:00. Pressing pause and then play again, same thing. time stays at 0:00. If i transfer the playback to the iPad local zone, the track then plays on the iPad correctly.

I get messages in the Roon log like this continuously:

I have tried disabling the Apple TV device, rebooting it, re-enabling, changing airplay to require the 6 digit password, and same thing. nothing helps. Also, of course i have tried quitting and restarting roon server.

@Christopher_Alpaugh, I am not an expert on reading Roon’s logs, but it appears your Workshop zone is trying to play to a Chromecast Audio device and not an AirPlay device based on the second line in the log your posted. Is there a potential conflict with another device to which you are trying to connect?

Outside of Roon, can you play to your Apple TV from another application using your iPad or iPhone?

I see that. I had a Chromecast audio device connected but it’s become very unreliable connecting to roon. I just disabled it completely when it briefly appeared in roon audio devices and that seems to have helped. The Apple TV device now connects and plays properly.
