Description of Issue
I open the roon app on my laptop and click connect to the roon computer. At that point it asks me to login, where I attempt to enter my login credentials and get the error: “Network Error: Please check your internet connection”. I cannot get passed this step.
Windows defender is disabled.
I previously ran the roon core on the laptop, but have uninstalled it multiple times and still have this issue.
I tried to follow a number of similar posts, but most of them are relatively technical and I don’t know how to proceed. Any guidance would be appreciated.
Switch off the laptop where you have the second core installed.
Connect your Nucleus to the network and power it on.
Download Roon App to your iPhone / iPad. Make sure the iPhone/iPad is on the same network. Try to connect to the Nucleus using the Roon App, giving your username and password.
When I try it on the ipad with a new Roon app installed, I get exactly the same error when I try to login to the roon app with my credentials. Even if I click forgot password, it gives me the error message that I am not connected to the network.
For your information, both are connected with an ethernet cable to the same switch that the roon nucleus is connected to. I have no problem seeing the nucleus on the ipad or the laptop, but the problem is with the “log in” step. I know the login information is correct, because I can easily login on the roonlabs.com website on the browser on either device.
So, yesterday I tried to hook up the roon computer to my office network and I was able to login properly with no issues. I guess now is the question of how do I go about fixing this issue at home. I don’t have anything special at home and it is a very similar setup. Any suggestions?
Are you trying to setup in two different physical locations with the same Roon account? I don’t think that will work unless you deactivate the one you are not using.
No, it was recommended that I try to hook up the roon computer that I could not log into without getting the error message that I am not connected to the internet, even though I was, on another network to see if I have that issue. So, I tried it at a different location and that problem was not there. I am only trying to run it at one location, which is my home, but I a still getting that error when trying to log in.
As you can see, your Gateway and DNS Server fields are filled with 0.0.0.0
It shouldn’t be like that. 0.0.0.0 is not a valid destination address, but simply an invalid configuration.
You hit it right on the nail. I tried to get connected to by manually entering the static IP information and I was able to do it. I will work on getting the DHCP side fixed tomorrow by following the instruction in your link. Your help is greatly appreciated.
