Is Roon Server running?

· No, Roon Server is not running.

For Roon connectivity to work properly, both Roon Server and Roon Remote need to be turned on.

· I can't turn on Roon Server, I need help.

Describe the issue

Can't set Roon ARC to "offline mode" when server is down.

We are having intermittent server issues. If I'm already in Offline Mode, ARC still works. However, when the server is down I can't turn on Offline Mode from the startup screen to get to the hundreds of albums on my phone.

Can you add the Offline Mode button to the startup screen, at least for those with a lifetime license?

Describe your network setup

The network is all Araknis, and all components are wired with ethernet. It was all set up by our local audio shop, Audio Advice.

Yes, I’m working directly with Silent Angel and my local audio store. We are making progress towards resolution and a repeatable recovery process.

Silent Angel is up and running. It’s delightfully quick.

However, I needed ti uninstall and reinstall ARC to free the space used by downloaded albums. I’n guessing it would be harder to preserve Downloads when disconnecting/connecting servers.

I’ve begun downloading AGAIN, 20GB for a select subset for albums A-C.

Thus far, it’s only crashed once (was selecting albums to download next; while other downloads were in progress).

Any suggestions to minimize risk would be appreciated.

It is great to hear that your Silent Angel is up and running quickly again!

Regarding your question about downloads and minimizing the risk of crashes while syncing large subsets: yes, downloads in Roon ARC are tightly bound to your specific Server ID. Any major migration, clean database restore, or server reset changes that internal identifier, which treats it as a brand-new connection and forces a re-download of your offline cache.

While we recognize this is a frustrating limitation, it is currently built into how ARC manages offline security and library mapping. To minimize crashes and reduce the risk of corruption while downloading large blocks (like your 20GB subset):

Leave the app active: Keep ARC open in the foreground and avoid heavy browsing or background multitasking while a heavy download batch is actively processing.
