Got it: it was a bad hosts file. Found out where it was located on this thread

Yah, this is your firewall or your computer. I just asked your system for diagnostics logs, and it looks like your machine is resolving updates.roonlabs.com to 127.0.0.1 – this is a common technique for pirating old versions of Roon. and found it with the wrong 127.0.0.1 redirection. Must have been the previous PC owner had a pirated copy or something.
