Hello @pl_svn ,

Thank you for reaching Roon support.

This behavior is often caused by browser or network settings interfering with the login process. Please follow the steps below:

Step-by-Step Troubleshooting Guide

1. Clear Safari’s Cache and History (iOS)

  • Open the Settings app.
  • Scroll down and tap Safari.
  • Tap Clear History and Website Data to remove cached files and cookies.

2. Adjust Safari Privacy Settings (iOS)

  • Go to Settings > Safari > Privacy & Security.
  • Make sure the following settings are disabled:
    • Block All Cookies
    • Prevent Cross-Site Tracking

3. Clear Chrome’s Cache and Cookies (Android)

  • Open the Chrome app.
  • Tap the three dots menu (top-right corner) and select Settings.
  • Tap Privacy and security > Clear browsing data.
  • Choose Cookies and site data and Cached images and files, then tap Clear data.

4. Adjust Chrome Site Settings (Android)

  • In Chrome, tap Settings > Site Settings.
  • Make sure that:
    • Cookies are allowed.
    • JavaScript is allowed.
    • Pop-ups and redirects are allowed (temporarily if needed for login).

5. Switch Networks (iOS and Android)

  • If you’re connected to a Wi-Fi network, switch to cellular data.
  • If you’re on cellular data, connect to a Wi-Fi network.
  • This can reset the DNS path and resolve login issues.

6. Verify Date and Time Settings (iOS and Android)

  • Go to Settings > General Management > Date and Time (Android) or Settings > General > Date & Time (iOS).
  • Ensure Set Automatically or Use Network-Provided Time is enabled.

7. Try Logging in via Web (iOS and Android)

  • Open Safari (iOS) or Chrome (Android).
  • Navigate to account.roonlabs.com and try logging in.
  • This helps verify your account works outside the app.

8. Clear Roon Account Session History (iOS and Android)

  • While logged in at account.roonlabs.com, navigate to your session history.
  • Remove any outdated or unnecessary sessions that might interfere with new logins.

9. If Using Opera Browser (iOS or Android): Disable Content Blocking

  • Tap the browser’s menu while on the Roon login page.
  • Look for the content blocking or privacy settings.
  • Disable content blocking specifically for this page.

Reinstall the App (if needed)

For iOS:

  • Delete the Roon app from your device.
  • Restart the device.
  • Reinstall the app from the App Store.
  • Attempt to log in again.

For Android:

  • Go to Settings > Apps > Roon.
  • Tap Uninstall.
  • Restart the device.
  • Reinstall Roon from the Google Play Store.
  • Attempt to log in again.

as I wrote… already tried all of the above as suggested in linked thread

also: how comes every other OAuth login works just fine but Arc’s?

and… btw… there’s no Captcha in login page/form!

oh, also: setting Roon Server’s Port to “0” doesn’t stick. whenever I go back to Settings/Roon ARC I find it reverted to 5502

(yes: Tailscale is enabled and ROCK connected)

Hi @pl_svn ,

Does the issue occur both on WiFi and on Cellular? Are you able to try to temporarily change your default browser in iOS settings to another one, and does that help? Note that this is a ReCapcha issue, so you wouldn’t necessarily be presented with a Capcha query, this is more-so something blocking the browser from pushing through the login success back to the Roon ARC app.

hi Noris

yes: both cellular and wi-fi are affected

and as I wrote I already tried everything suggested in the thread I linked above, using Firefox included
(and before someone asks… also deleted/reinstalled Arc!)

btw… how it comes that after clearing Safari’s cache I had no issue logging back here but still can’t from Arc?

Hi @pl_svn,

If you can sign in on Safari, SSO should maintain the session across Safari and ARC on the same phone. However, the login process for ARC is still validated by Google’s servers; Invalid Recaptchas can occur when Google’s servers detect bot-like behavior during sign-in. This can happen for several reasons, with the most common being corrupted cached cookies, selective content blockers, proxy connections, and VPNs. That’s why we perform such a thorough screening, and we appreciate your patience.

However, there are still some reasons for ReCaptcha failure that are more particular to the steps you take during sign-in. For instance, using enterprise or filtered WIFi (hotel, corporate network, etc.). If you’re not using a VPN or proxy and have already cleared your cookies multiple times, Recaptcha may still fail in rare instances due to Google’s servers perceiving overreliance on saved passwords.

As a workaround, try manually typing your email and password instead of relying on copy/paste or autofill. Let us know if this helps. We’ll watch for your response.

hi @connor

thank you indeed! :slightly_smiling_face:
this (together with clearing Safari’s cache once more, disabling 1Blocker and setting 8.8.8.8 as my router’s DNS server instead of a Raspberry Pi running PiHole)… worked and I’m now signed in in Arc too :champagne:

using Tailscale on both my Roon Server and iPhone I managed for the very first time in years to give Arc a try (both via local network and cellular)

very last question (re Arc): how do I sort Albums by “Date added” with latest additions on top, please?

thank you so much once more :slightly_smiling_face:
