Can't play music on MacOS

For a few weeks now I have been unable to use the Roon client on MacOS to play music on the audio devices attached to my Macbook Pro. I can play music on any other device, and I can play them from the Macbook Pro. The only thing that doesn’t work is playing back music to devices attached to the macbook pro. Similar to as discussed by someone else in Roon Settings | Audio | Flickering - #3 by Stefan_Mauron, the devices page flickers incredibly quickly, and doesn’t offer me the ability to enable any device.

The things I have tried:

  1. Rebooting my roon server (which is a different device)
  2. Rebooting my mac
  3. Uninstalling roon, reinstalling
  4. Downgrading roon to an earlier version I knew worked
  5. Making sure no firewall is blocking anything
  6. Removing the .rmembid file

Nothing seems to work.

Give a try by changing the screen-resolution in System settings of OSx

What would I change? This happens when connected to a monitor. I have tried disconnecting from the monitor and just using the built in macbook pro screen and then changing the resolution from default to more space and no change

I’ve seen this before. It’s the firewall.

Temporarily disable the firewall to confirm. You can then turn it back on and add entries for Roon and RAATServer to allow the connection.

Also, you’ve posted this in the wrong section. If you want to receive support, go to Support and click there to create a ticket.

Firewall is off on the mac, and I ensured nothing blocked on my unifi.

Is it bad forn to repost in there?
