Roon Server installed on a Mac Mini M1 (connected to my internet box using Ethernet cable)
Roon installed on a Macbook Pro M2 (connected to my internet box using Wifi)
Roon installed on a Desktop PC (Windows 10, connected to my internet box using Wifi))
I upgraded my two Mac devices yesterday to MacOS Tahoe 26.0.1
Since this upgrade, my Roon Server does not see any audio device on the network, only local audio (Mac mini speaker, and a Cambridge Audio amplifier plugged to the mac mini using USB). It does not see Roon on my Windows 10 PC, nor on my Macbook PRO.
And it’s painful for me because I mostly (~80%) use Roon to play music on my Win 10 computer when working, which I can’t do anymore.
When lookin on mac mini’s RAATServer logs, I see this error message a lot of time: 10/04 12:52:17 Error: [discovery] error sending response: host is unreachable
But I don’t know on wich host / port / protocol RAAT Server tries to send response.
I tried :
Rebooting all three computers
Uninstall then reinstall Roon on all three computers
Remove directory Library/RAATServer on my Mac mini
Disable firewalls
Nothing worked.
Can you help me ? This automatic devices discovery often breaks often on Software Updates (mostly because of firewall rules management on my Win 10 desktop computer), but this time I don’t manage to fix it alone…
Hi,
Thank for your answer. I had forgotten to write it on my initial message, but indeed I had already activated access to Local Network to Roon.
Finally, I managed to solve my issue after a nth reboot of my computers. But I don’t know exactly why it worked this time, unfortunately
But at least I can listen to my music again!
Not sure if you are aware, but part of the problem is that even if it looks still-activated from doing it previously, it isn’t really and one should toggle it off and back on. Maybe rebooting can lead to the same effect - glad that you are back in business
