Cant stream live radio with Nucleus [resolved]

Just FYI, DKFM -Shogaze does not stream via Roon, I can stream it directly from my network streamer however.

Hello @Rob_Magnotti , DKFM Radio works fine for me. Are you using the database version? (The URL is different there)

So, if I use the search function on Roon Live Radio for DKFM (Shoegaze) Radio Fresno, CA and save it as a favorite, I get “Playback was interrupted because a track failed to load” error message.

Are you sure you didn’t already have DKFM in my live radio?
You should see

Note the URL.
If yours is different, delete the station and add the DB version.

Yep, that’s what I have saved, verified URL. I removed it from my library, re-added it. Also, stopped, re-started Roon, same result. Other stations like Radio Paradise play fine via Roon app. I can also stream DKFM if I search it from my streamer directly. It’s weird, Roon doesn’t like me, lol  The URL https://kathy.torontocast.com:2000/stream or https://kathy.torontocast.com:2005/stream works in a web browser.

The stream Roon uses is http, not https. Nevertheless, you should be able to play via Roon.

Can you play the other two DKFM stations?

What core do you have?

No, neither play via Roon. Actually, on further testing many fail even locally in my state. A Czech Republic music station did play so the app is definitely working. And good 'ole Radio Paradise plays. Also, made sure VPN/ad blocking is turned off. Not a big deal as I can select stations directly from my network streamer.

0k, I suspect your codecs (or lack of them). It looks like Flac will play but not MP3 (or aac probably).

What is your core?

From another thread of yours, I see you have a nucleus. That comes with codecs, so I don’t know what’s happened.

To confirm the aac, can you play
CJSW. An aac only station

What does your nucleus web interface show?

That could be it. Brand new Roon Nucleus here. On version 2.0.

Can you confirm the CJSW station and check the web UI for a codecs missing message?

You shouldn’t have to fiddle with ffmpeg yourself with a Nucleus. If it is the codecs, then we need to flag support who can fix things directly.

That radio station CJSW (AAC 96kbps) gives fail to load message. WebUI interface has Missing Codecs message.

Good (inasmuch as we now know the problem).

Flagging @support. They’ll be in touch.
