Caret/pointer to track playing missing after switching away from Roon iOS app
Describe your network setup
Verizon G3100 FIOS router
Since at least Jan 2025, the caret pointing to the track being played isn’t displayed in the iOS app if I switch to another app and then back to Roon. The Roon software on the iPAD and server are up-to-date by according to Roon messages.
Hi @Ari_Marcus,
Thanks for reaching out to us about this issue. We need some more information to begin troubleshooting. Does this happen with the Roon remote app or with Roon ARC? When this happens are there interruptions to your music? Lastly can you please share some screenshots of what you are seeing when this happens? Thanks in advance for your patience!
Perversely, as of yesterday, the dancing spectrograph between the track number and track title for the currently playing track has reappeared. Since I think there have been no updates to the Roon app, this might have been an issue with the iOS operating system.
For background this happened in the Roon remote app; there were no interruptions to the music. I would switch to another app, with Roon continuing to play in the background. On returning to Roon the spectrograph was no longer visible. Since I listen primarily to classical music in complete albums, I could tell which track was playing by looking for the next un-incremented track-played counter (or by matching track information from the bottom panel to the the track listing).
Thanks for letting us know that the issue has corrected itself, this is great news! Please, do let us know if the behavior returns, but hopefully everything will remain solved. Thanks!
