Choppy interface on Roon iPhone app with smoother performance in power saving mode (ref#CEC7RU)

What’s happening?

· I'm noticing slowness when using the Roon App in iPhone 16 Pro Max

Describe the issue

Roon Remote Application In iPhone 16 Pro Max has very choppy interface while scrolling through local albums, though it is weird that in power saving mode the interface is less choppy and more smooth. May be the application has to be optimized for higher refresh rate, though I have no issues with my iPad.

Hi @Santhosh_Arulvanan,
Thanks for writing in to let us know about this issue. Can you give some more details on this choppy scrolling? Does it only happen when scrolling through local albums or are other pages affected as well.

As a first troubleshooting step can you restart both the iPhone and your Roon server?

Yes I have tried restarting my server, and no luck with this as well.
This issue is mainly with albums page where a lot of albums listed and we scroll up and down, similarly I ran a Qobuz search and the same issue was replicated there as well under discography section for the Artist.

I also came across another thread where users are facing similar issues, and the problem seems to be with higher frame rate used in newer mobile devices.
When I limit frame rate in settings->accessibility->motion->limit frame rate to 60 frames, it works fine and the scrolling is more smooth.

Hey @Santhosh_Arulvanan,

You are correct with your above statement - this is something our development team still has on their to-do list, with a ticket in their queue.

Progress is slow, so we appreciate your patience in the meantime! When a fix is pushed, we’ll share the details within our software release notes, which can be found and monitored here:
