Chord HUGO 2

Hi, I want to connect Chord Hugo 2 to iPhone via USB as Roon source and then connect HUGO 2 to Grado GW100x via Bluetooth.I have no idea how this works. The only way to do this is to connect the iPhone to the HUGO 2 via Bluetooth, and then connect the HUGO 2 to the Grado GW100x via cable. But I don’t want to do that. Does anyone have any ideas?
Thanks.
Best Regards Udo

I’m presuming you have a lightning connector on the iPad. You’ll need a USB dongle that you can attach to your iPhone. You can then connect to the Hugo 2 via USB. The Apple camera connection kit gets the job done. Lightning to USB 3 Camera Adapter - Apple (UK)

Hello Udo,

I don’t understand what the Hugo2 will bring in the case you describe.

Your headphones are wireless using Bluetooth for connecting to a source that will directly feed it with digital data (with data loss for what concerns Bluetooth and music). That is to say the Bluetooth headphones come with a internal device to perform the Digital to Analog Conversion.

Your Hugo2 is a Digital to Analog Converter (DAC), it takes a digital source as an input (this source can be coming from Bluetooth) and converts it as two analog signals to feed either the 2 cups of wired headset or the L/R analog inputs of stereo system.
Connecting a headset via Bluetooth is removing any external DAC to the equation, hence removing the Hugo2 in your case.

So why not just connecting your Smartphone to your Grado via Bluetooth?

My two cents,

Erwan

A quick check and

Similar to my Bang & Olufsen Portal Bluetooth headphones, mine can accept a 3.5mm connection and also a USB connection. They also come with a Bluetooth dongle which gives me incredible range. Paired with my Android phone I have up aptX HD.

As mentioned, the Apple CCK will allow the connection @Udo_Castedello seeks and also charge the device at the same time.

Unless I’m mistaken, doesn’t seem to be what Udo wants to do.

At first I thought that.

But

Suggests he doesn’t want to connect the phone via Bluetooth. I think they still want a wired headphone connection.

Maybe @Udo_Castedello can clarify.

Request seems quite explicit to me…
