Chrome Cast Ultra, skipping tracks and stopping playback issues

Hi all,
I have seen this question raised a few times in posts and forgive me for doing it again. But haven’t seen or missed a real solution.

For me i use a basic Windows machine Celeron Quad Core with 8 gigs of ram running Windows 11. A MINI PC. works fine no issues playing back on other endpoints except ChromeCast…

Skipping of tracks which I’ve seen mentioned here is the main problem, i can load a full album and no problems. Plays it through for me…

It happens when songs are added on the fly to the cue sometimes and Roon radio adding tracks. Just stops or skips.

Nothing wrong with those tracks as you can come back to the core software and click play and away we go.

Roon must do something in the above scenario that Chromecast doesn’t like or visa versa .
Any ideas?

We’ve attempted to pull diagnostic logs from your Roon Server instance in order to help diagnose what’s wrong with the network here. However, the server appears to have been offline or otherwise unavailable. At your convenience, can you please use the directions found here and send over a set of logs to our File Uploader?

Alternatively, the report will automatically upload the next time you log into Roon, so that might save you a step.

I am up and running again and problem is the same, tranferred to Mac OS fully, thought it might PC, no joy, hope you can solve it.

just to add my thoughts after some testing today, I believe it’s sample rate issues with Chromecast and Roon. As long as a set are all the same sample rate no worries, whether that be 44.1 or 96 or 192 or whatever it plays. The problem of skipping, stopping etc happens with mixed sample rate tracks. I’ve tried the sync delay in the Device set up for Chromecast but doesn’t do anything for me.
