Are you using the Rossini on an USB or network connection?
I’m assuming USB to start with, because thats the usual suspect when it comes to Windows servers.
Have you considered something more “dedicated” as a server, like a ROCK setup or so?
The Rossini is connected to Roon with a networked connection.
This appears to be a Roon problem. Frustrating as it is not quality play back with pops and clicks. The bit errors get too high and then misses many samples.
Please show us a signal path info pop-up screen shot while a track plays that’s exhibiting the problem!
To check for possible clipping, activate Muse’s “Headroom” feature and tick “Clipping indicator” box while having headroom set to “0dB” and monitor the signal path quality star for red clipping indications when problem is audible - then give us some feedback.
Hello, just getting back to this. Thanks to all for your suggestions. I am not using DSP/Muse but will activate to check for clipping.
Benjamin, I will also monitor the issue and time stamp on tracks and when they occur.
One side note: I have tried using airplay from iPhone to dCS Rossini using the SiriusXM radio app. and quite sure I hear some of the same intermittent studders/clicks - it is very subtle, so I need to listen more and try to determine if that is playback anomaly. If it is same as I hear when playback via Roon, do I assume there is a local ethernet network problem?
