I bought the HUAWEI MediaPad M5 Lite specifically to control Roon. When I bought the tablet, I was able to install the Roon app from the Google Play Store without any problems. Now, when I try to update the Roon app in the Play Store, it says that the HUAWEI MediaPad M5 Lite is not compatible with the roon app. The "old" roon app runs in full-screen mode on the tablet, however.
How do I get the latest version of Roon on my HUAWEI MediaPad M5 Lite?
What Android version does it run? You usually see this message when your device runs an incompatible version of Android. Roon currently requires at least Android 9. See if there is an update available for your device.
Thank you for your post. Our diagnostic servers show that the tablet in question (the Huawei MediaPad M5) is running Android 8. Unfortunately, the current version of Roon is only compatible with Android 9 and above. You can run the legacy build on this tablet, but it’s not suggested you mix a Roon 2.0 server with a legacy controller/remote. You’ll either need to switch your entire system to the legacy build (1.8), or update the tablet operating system (if possible).
