I have a library of compilation CDs that keep splitting into multiple albums Sometimes I can rescan or resave tags and they go back to a single album, but then as other albums are added or refreshed or the program starts again, they split again. Sometimes it's just one track, other times it's multiple tracks. I've checked and the tags are all as they should be.
Well, there are a number of recent threads about things like this in the forums, including this one:
One thing I can recommend is using a metadata editor to see if any of your track artists are “Various Artists” and, if so, either clear those fields out or change the phrase to simply “Various”.
The term “Various Artists” is, however, a-ok to use in the Album Artist fields…
