Description of Issue

Complete editions of fe classical music often consist of dozens of separate albums which are organised in subgroups; like “pianoworks”, “symphonies”, or “early years” etc etc.
I also organise them in that way on my NAS: main directory, subdirectory and tracks. As it seams Roon sees the separate subgroups as versions of the same album although the subgroups/directories contain tracks which are clearly not the same nor tagged the same.
the downside of this is that you can only browse a subset of the total collection in the app and are forced to check the different versions for the rest of the tracks.
Even when i put all the tracks in one directory the presentation as different versions remains the same.
The none-primary version tracks can be searched…if you know the exact titel offcourse..
Under “Settings”, the “show hiddentracks and albums” option is switched ON.
I would very much like to see all tracks of a collection as part of the primary version.
What to do?

Hi @Henk_Kasteleijn ,

Can you please share a few screenshots of your directory setup and your Roon Settings → Library → Import Settings? What does it look like in Roon, vs what you expect it to look like? Have you seen this article before? Does this help?

Hi Noris, thanks for the reply! And no, i didn’t see the suggested article before… I will check and simulate later this weekend.
At first glance i think i violated the “album-level directories won’t work” rule …
Get back to you asap!
