Composer doesn’t display on phones

How can I get the composer to display on a phone. Even with classical genre and “show composer credits” set to always, I seem to have no possibility to show the composer. Personally I’d always want to see the composer as a priority over the performer for classical but a configurable display would be ideal

Is this using Roon Remote (rather than Roon ARC) on your phone? And have you set the “Show composer credits” in the :gear: > General settings on your phone? The General settings are per device - not global throughout Roon. I ask, because I’m seeing these credits being displayed on my Android phone…

Hi Geoff,
Thanks for your reply
I am using Room Remote on an iPhone and iPad.
I have “show composer credits” set to always.

I do see the composer in the queue view and album overview, but I would like to see it in the track view
For example:

I would like the option to display Composer either in addition to, or instead of, the Artist

Is this a local album? I can’t locate it on Qobuz. If so, are you sure that the composers are included in the track metadata? If they are not, then Roon can’t display non-existent metadata.

Hi Geoff,
Yes it is a local album, but it does have the composer info (I always make sure it is there) per track.
Here is another example from Qobuz where you can see the composer is missing from the track display, but visible in the queue and album overview. :

Erm - in your last screenshot, the composer is listed by the work in the track view? Roon doesn’t put the composer by every individual track, but will roll it up to a work, or to the album itself if all tracks are by the same composer.

That is not the “track view” which is what you see under the album page; you are showing the Now Playing screen where it is probably not shown due to space considerations.

Sorry, I think we’ve been talking at cross purposes here.

I see now that you want the composer displayed in the “Now Playing” view.

This particular attribute is not displayed on the current incarnation of the “Now Playing” view on either the smartphone, tablet, PC or Mac versions of Roon.

I suggest that you make this a feature suggestion and post in the Feature Suggestions category of the forum.

Looking in the forum, there are already a couple of threads requesting this. I suggest you add your vote to this one:

And I’ll try and consolidate all the requests into this one thread…

Hi Geoff
Thanks for this info

However, it does appears in the tablet ‘Now Playing’ view but not the phone
Here is the earlier Qobuz example I sent:

Yup - I meant to say the “Now Playing” ribbon…

Hi Geoff
Oh wow, the ribbon is a whole different area I hadn’t thought about. Primarily I am concerned about the “Now Playing” view but the ribbon would be cool to be configurable too

I’ll add my vote to the thread you highlighted

Thanks
Andy
