Does this help?
To give you more guidance, you should give a bit more info. What do you mean with “messed up”?

Hello @Dr_Dave_Barr,
No worries — you can reinstall Roon without losing your music library, as long as you have a backup of the Roon database.
A quick clarification first, since this often causes confusion:
- Your music files (the actual audio files) are not stored inside Roon
- Roon stores a database with your edits, playlists, favorites, play history, and settings
- Reinstalling Roon does not delete your music files
What to do before reinstalling
Before you reinstall, make sure you have a recent Roon backup:
- Go to Roon → Settings → Backups
- Confirm you have a recent backup listed
- If not, create one now (manual backup)
Reinstalling Roon
Once you reinstall and launch Roon again:
- When prompted, choose Restore a backup
- Select your most recent backup
- Let Roon finish restoring — your library, playlists, and settings will return exactly as before
Your music files will be re-linked automatically as long as they’re in the same storage locations.
