I had problems with Roon ARC connecting to my core in July. It was resolved in mid-July by introducing a manual port forwarding, thanks to help from the Roon community. I hadn't used it for a while but, when attempting to connect today from outside home, I got the message "Poor connection. Try again". Still no connection with repeated attempts. Even when I returned home, I had the same message. In addition, I began to receive the notice at the bottom of the Roon Arc interface "Unauthorized", yet I seem to be properly logged in. I have made no adjustments to settings since the manual port forwarding in mid-July.
I am using a MacMini M1 as my core/server, running the RoonARC app on a Pixel 7.
The “Unauthorized” banner indicates that ARC is failing authentications when connecting to RoonServer - it’s possible that there was a session mismatch and ARC is attempting to authenticate on a closed connection from a previous session.
I recommend signing in/out of RoonServer and ARC and then signing back into both while on your home WiFi. If you still have issues, I’d then try to fully uninstall and reinstall ARC.
There’s a new update available - I’d also update your machines to the most recent version of Roon and ARC.
Thanks, Connor. In the end, I had to uninstall Roon ARC and re-install it. Apps are updated and Roon ARC is connecting to the server from home. Will confirm tomorrow that it connects when away from home.
