Convolution ZIP isn't uploaded into Roon ROCK
LAN
Hello @Ralf_Hoellmann ,
Thank you for reaching out to the Roon Support Team. We’re glad to see you again in our community!
Could you kindly provide more details regarding your request — specifically, which device you’re using to upload the file, and whether you’re receiving any specific error messages?
Kind regards,
Vadim
Hi Vadim, thanks for getting back to me. Yes, for sure,
I will describe the issue. The installation is as follows:
Intel i3 with 8GB memory, two internal SSDs (system and data) running ROON ROCK latest version. LAN connection via FritzBox router
Playback devices is an OKTO Research DAC8, latest firmware 1.6 (8-channel DAC).
Convolution file (ZIP) generated by Acourate for 8-channel room correction for all sample rates. (I can send you a file, which does not upload). The file is large (approx. 177MB) due to the number of tabs chosen).
In MUSE, all non-relevant filters are deleted and CONVOLUTION is added. Then, via the Browse function, the filter ZIP is selected and uploaded to the system.
And here comes the problem:
The filter uploads without any dificulty in the 1st place. The 2nd and 3rd version upload equally well. AND suddenly, a new ZIP (with exactly the same parameters!) does’t upload anymore. Not at all. It start uploading and then swiches back to the ROON playback screen. Re-entering MUSE does still show the OLD filter selected.
Of course, I re-booted the i5 and the Okto. It played with the “old” filter, but consistently refuses to upload a new one. I have also deleted the convolution filter in MUSE and re-installed it. No change.
I have observed this behaviour in the past weeks and SOMETIMES, it works and sometimes it fails to upload. I cannot see any systematic behaviour here.
Any thoughts?
Cheers, Ralf.
I have made the following observations with this upload failure in a remote control session:
The zip file has been checked for correctness. It can be loaded by another Roon installation without problems.
Hey @Ralf_Hoellmann,
Thanks for the detailed update!
Please do! You should be able to upload it here:

@Uli_Brueggeman we appreciate you writing in as well - welcome to the community! We suggest creating your own thread for proper tracking and communication - Thank you!
Hi Benjami. Thanks. Upload has been completed.
Hi @Ralf_Hoellmann,
We’ll test this file in-house until we can reproduce the failure. In the meantime, our QA team may have additional follow-up questions that we’ll pass along here.
If this requires a fix from development in a future Roon build, we’ll keep this ticket open until the release.
Thanks again!
Hello Benjamin,
I have tried to help Ralf and so my contribution is exactly valid for this discussion. No need to create another thread.
So my description shows what is happening on Ralfs computers.
@Uli_Brueggeman, to be clear, are you assisting @Ralf_Hoellmann directly and in front of his computer, or are you experencing similar symptoms?
If the latter, then each support thread should be for a single users.
I assist @Ralf_Hoellmann in front of his computer by remote control session. So I can confirm that the zip file cannot be uploaded.
Whereas the zip file can be uploaded on my Roon PC without trouble. So IMO the zip is ok.
Is this clear enough?
Thanks for the clarification. I agree that your posts should stay in this thread.
Roon support will follow up after the weekend.

Convolution ZIP upload failure in Roon ROCK (ref#SOTCNJ) CONTINUED
LAN 1GB
Hi Roon Team,
in the meantime, we have made a couple of new tests in order to ressolve this issue. We have re-installed ROCK, added RAM to the NUC - no change.
What we have figured out:
When the convolution filter ZIP doesn’t upload in MUSE, this is a work around:
Is this an error in ROON?
Cheers, Ralf
