Core app keeps freezing up

Core Machine (Operating system/System info/Roon build number)

Mac mini 2012 OS Mojave, 4GB memory

Network Details (Including networking gear model/manufacturer and if on WiFi/Ethernet)

connected to Ethernet and WiFi

Audio Devices (Specify what device you’re using and its connection type - USB/HDMI/etc.)

Moon Ace connected to Mac mini by USB

Description Of Issue

plays for between 5 mins and something only a few seconds and then freezes the core app, haven’t changed anything in set up and this started about a month or so ago and has gotten steadily worse

4gb memory might be a bit thin…how big is your library? Is your Mac using ssd? Is the boot drive getting full, you should maintain 20% free space ideally.

Can you elaborate on what happens when you say “freezes the Core app”?

  • Does playback stop?
  • Are you able to navigate the UI?
  • How long does this last? Do you have to restart or does it fix itself?

It pauses and the freezes up and is unresponsive then sometimes it comes back other times not. I’m going to close the topic out as i think it may just be my Mac having issues.

Yes, if your Mac is having issues in general that could certainly cause this type of problem. It would be good to know if you see this same behavior when using another machine as your Core.
