Probably because Roon gets its credits and other metadata from MusicBrainz and TiVo (all or most?), and not from Tidal, and I suppose they are missing in these sources.
That would be a foolish thing not to take advantage of the data from the musical source…
It could be improved.
Since we have access to more data from Tidal, why not have (at least) the same from Roon?
Roon displays information sourced from our metadata providers. It’s worth noting that TIDAL doesn’t share their credits data with us. The amount of data available varies from one recording to another, and sometimes we may have more data than TIDAL, while in other cases, they might have more information than us.
Having noted that Tidal credits are more complete than Roon’s , most of the times, I presume you could negotiate to transpose all the data from Tidal (or Qobus, or whatever provider you may add in the future), so that you could add this to the advantages of using Roon. it would be a much-appreciated plus or bonus to users.
Please talk to Tidal or Qobus, deal with them, and try to convince them, now with a stronger argument of the new owner of Roon, reaching a wider market.
Keep up the good work. This doesn’t mean it couldn’t be bettered.
