Cyrus cd-t still worth to buy?

I really love Cyrus design. I saw it maybe 35y ago and I wanted to bout it one day… now I have Roon with active Genelec speakers with DSP…. So now I’m rather digital guy.

But I want to buy CD transport to be able to listen music in more oldschool way from time to time
Pros:

  • small
  • I like such design
  • Not made in China (sorry no other option!)
  • highly recommended by… yes…audio webpages
  • available on market for years

Cons:

  • slot mechanism - I would love top loader but it much bigger and more expensive
  • Cyrus probably will upgrade it soon with new Classic CD players/transports I suspect?
  • I read a lot of threads about problems with mechanism and support. I prefer buying device for many years
  • for such price I could maybe buy something used but better (and also bigger unfortunately)

Because I use digital domain mainly so coax output is required. I even thought about used ancient Philips CD players which looks awesome ! But there is no digital output and for sure there is a risk that device can have some problems

What about the Exposure XM-CD player? Half width and top loader too.

Have you thought about the Rega Apollo? I have one and love it. Top loader, made in England, half-widht, coax out.

Yes I’m trying to buy rega apollo-r. Now Apollo is replaced by more expensive and bigger Saturn.

The Apollo R is the previous version. The last one is simply Apollo. It is discontinued now, but you may still find in shops

My Cyrus CDi sounds better than a LUMIN u2 mini with a McIntosh MC462 and C2800. Maybe just me but it is still worth it.
