Bummer! Looks like this modulators are very good (even no DAC correction)
! Placebo listening effect, Iāve been enjoying it until @Stefano_Antonelli reveled me the truth! Still enjoying it
Any chance T+A DAC 8 correction be implemented too?
Yes, it is possible in future. I will certainly add more corrections over time.
Iāve read what little there is but what exactly is this function DAC correction?
I have a May DAC which isnāt on the listā¦and Iām still running HQPe 4.
May is certainly on the listā¦
Ah, my eye didnāt catch it listed with Spring 3. What exactly is the benefit of DAC correction?
The analog output signal from DAC is more accurate vs the digital input.
It seems to me that the whole point of HQP is to improve the analog output vs the input. What specifically is DAC correction doing vs the various modulators and filters? My searches turn up effectively nothing even on signalyst.com
Does it set optimal bit depth for each particular DAC? or are there new tweaks that havenāt been available previously in HQP for specific DACs. Is it just an āeasyā button for already available settings but on a per DAC basis?
It performs corrections for the DACās imperfections, so that the output is more accurate.
So it is not related to the already existing settings.

Thanks, where do I enable that? Checked the manual not sure it is there .
Under Matrix, enable Matrix.
At the bottom of the page youāll find the option for DAC Correction. If your DAC is supported, it will be listed in the dropdown. Select it and enable DAC Correction. Save / OK your changes.
it works, thanks sir.
Sorry to jump in between like this, I was just googling āwhat exactly does DAC correction do?ā and not much came up, is there an article somewhere that I could read about it?
Like, what kind of mistakes does a DAC do and how can HQplayer detect those⦠would be interesting to know more, all I know is, itās active for my Wandla as of right now
Tis already there? Or has that been the past 11 days?
D-6 corrections have been there since mid-July 2024.
Blockquote
would the DAC correction be extended to Esoteric K03XD, considering you have support on TEAC701 which have the same spec as it.
Indeed, probably they are not exactly the same.
But, Iād love to know what corrections can do for the Esoteric K-03XD (I have). ![]()
I understand that the K-03XD has a discrete DAC but it processes both PCM and DSD separately, each with own filters and settings. PCM is not modulated into DSD, like with the TEAC.
Cheers
UD-701N gives you option to use either a multi-bit modulator or a DSD modulator. DSD modulator gives notably better performance than the multibit one.
