Description of Issue
Starting yesterday all of my daily mixes contain music and artists I’ve never listened to and have no interest in. First time I’ve ever seen this. I only listed to jazz and suddenly I’m getting nothing but pop, rock and hip hop in all 6 mixes. My main interest in using roon is for their algorithm and recommendations through the daily mixes, so if this persists it’s of no use to me.
Is anyone else seeing this? Is there something I can do to et things back on track? I’ve been very happy with the music in all the daily mixes since I signed up several months ago. And now this… hoping someone can help!
Hi Bob, according to this information, Daily Mixes are a result of your listening habits. So either something is broken, or somebody else is listening to other music via your account. Do you notice anything weird in your listening history? Also, it can’t hurt to check the history of your Tidal/Qobuz account, via their own apps.
I checked my Roon history and it looks as expected - all mine, all jazz. I never listen directly to Qobuz (my streaming source), only through Roon. I went to the Qobuz app and didn’t see anything suspicious but since I don’t use it directly there wasn’t much to see that I could fathom. Doesn’t appear there is a history feature that reflects what I played through Roon.
So it does appear something is broken. What should my next step be? Should I reinstall my core? I’ve never done that, are there instructions about how to do that somewhere?
If not that, or that doesn’t help, what would you suggest?
If I were you, I would wait a few days and see if new ‘normal’ playlists arrive. It might be just a glitch of the AI engine behind the playlists, called Valence.
Maybe others will chime in and have better advise.
I don’t think a re-install of your core will help in this particular case. But if you do try this, be sure to make a backup of your Roon library first. This backup keeps your play history safe, aswell as countless other settings and edits you made.
